Community transport

There are a number of community transport services that cover our area.


Connect2 Wiltshire (https://www.connectingwiltshire.co.uk/getting-around/bus/flexible-transport/connect2-booking-and-service-information/) – a flexible, demand responsive, bus and taxi service in Wiltshire. Operates several routes to and from the Great Western Hospital and Royal Wootton Bassett. They cover Broad Hinton and Winterbourne Bassett and can be booked by calling 01249 890794.


Marlborough Link (http://www.marlboroughlink.org.uk/) - a local voluntary group offering a “good neighbour” service to local people that need a little help with medical appointments, visits to hospitals and care homes, hairdressers, dentists, opticians, physio sessions, day centres, support groups, social events. There is no set charge, but they do invite people to make a donation. They cover Winterbourne Bassett and can be booked by calling 01672 288007.


Swindon Dial-a-Ride (https://www.dialarideswindon.org.uk/dial-a-ride) - providing a door-to-door transport service for people of all ages with limited mobility who are unable to use ordinary buses. People use the service for a variety of journeys including shopping, meeting friends, visiting, appointments such as hospital, doctors, dentists, and opticians. Local journeys can be booked up to one month in advance. You need to register by calling 01793 616050. Covers Broad Hinton and charges are comparable to taxi rates.
